How to get here

By Car

Free car and coach parking is available at Bo'ness Station.

From Edinburgh & the East
From the A720 City Bypass take the M8 and follow signs for Stirling to join the M9. Alternatively, from Corstorphine and Maybury, take the A8 past Edinburgh Airport and join the M9 for Stirling at Newbridge Roundabout. Leave the motorway at Junction 3 and turn right for Bo'ness, and turn right again after another mile, following the brown tourist signs for the Steam Railway.

Note that from Barnton, Cramond & N.W. Edinburgh it is more convenient to take the A90 for the Forth Road Bridge and follow signs to join the A904 for Bo'ness but avoid this route as there is likely to be congestion on the Forth Road Bridge approaches.

From Fife & the North
Take the M90/A90 to the Forth Road Bridge. Leave at the junction immediately south of the bridge and at the traffic-light-controlled roundabout turn right onto the A904 for Bo'ness. In about 7 miles at a T-junction turn right on the A904, and turn right again after another mile, following the brown tourist signs for the Steam Railway.

From Glasgow & the West
From Glasgow take the M80/A80 or from Lanarkshire take the M73/A80 following signs for Stirling and Kincardine Bridge. Shortly after passing Cumbernauld the A80 again becomes the M80. At Junction 5 take the M876 for Kincardine Bridge, which joins the M9 for Edinburgh. Leave at Junction 5 then turn right on the A905. At the roundabout turn left, then take the next turn right for Bo'ness (still the A905). This road joins the A904 at a small roundabout and shortly before reaching Bo'ness crosses the railway on a new bridge. Turn left following the brown tourist signs for the Steam Railway.

From Stirling & Dunblane
Take the M9 for Edinburgh.
