All aboard for a Day Out With Thomas!
Join East Lancashire Railway as they welcome Thomas for a day of family fun. A ticket for Day Out With Thomas includes the train ride with Thomas as well as a variety of Thomas & Friends™ themed entertainment. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet The Fat Controller from the Island of Sodor.

Bolton Street Station
The trains start running at 9:00am, with the Fat Controller officially opening the event at 9:45am, and closing it at 3:45pm

Limited parking is available at Bury Bolton Street Station, Ramsbottom Station, and Rawtenstall Station. Please also use our Park & Ride facilities at Heywood Station.
How to get here
East Lancashire Railway is in the heart of Bury, easily accessible by all forms of public transport with Bury Interchange only a five minute walk away. Trams from Manchester City Centre to Bury operate every 12 minutes between 7.30am – 7.15pm weekdays and 9.30am – 6:15pm on Saturdays and every 12 to 15 minutes at all other times as well as Sundays and Bank Holidays.
There is also a regular bus service that runs from Manchester City Centre directly to the Bury Interchange. The 135 service runs approximately every 10 minutes, the journey takes approximately 1 hour.

Paid parking facilities are available adjacent to Bury Station and free parking is available at all other stations.
Coach drop-off points are located outside Bury Station with a 30-minute waiting time and on Castlecroft Road with all day parking.
All stations are fully accessible for visitors in wheelchairs although motorised chairs may have difficulty on the cobbled section of the museum floor.
Wheelchair access is provided at all stations, please ask a member of staff for assistance. Disabled toilet facilities can be found at Bury, Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall stations.
